A Flash Test

update: this crossdomain.xml access thing is not my thing; the swf will just have to be run from google. After all, I am just interested in animating a cool Preloader

I would like to use Google Sites as a storage space for my files, but I would like to know if I have constant access to them.

log:
ran into security error, crossdomain.xml; code executes perfectly in Flash
focus on the actual animation part

A Digital Portfolio

I have always felt that if I were to make a digital portfolio, why make it open and read like a paper one? Digital portfolios may lack the attributes of physicality, but have the ability to become flexible and interactive. So I am exploring how to present (and re-present) my design projects via swfs.

At the moment, I am more concerned with getting the coding (actionscript3) to behave properly. So in this case, I wanted to be able to move freely within the swf. I will use this technique later as I reveal the layers of this amazing cathedral.

Habitat For Humanity

I am finally getting involved with our local HFH chapter. I have been putting it off during college, but now I no longer have any excuses left. HFH of Greater Lowell is building a handicap-accessible single family home in Bedford.

Today I worked with Karl on organizing and re-stacking a pile of dimensional lumber at the site. What seemed like a simple job took the entire day, especially given the 20 degree weather and snow-covered site. There were a total of twelve volunteers, each doing his or her task. Despite this, I find working with a group of dedicated volunteers working towards a common goal to be supremely rewarding, and I look forward to next Saturday.

Year 2010

I have spent all of last year working on my thesis. It sure was a roller-coaster ride. You can view snippets of it here: http://waidiren.blogspot.com/

I plan to grab year by the horns, and never let go. This is a promise to myself, my family, and my friends.
